The second song on our original EP was "The North Wind". This is quite possibly my favourite Grave Forsaken song. It was the first song I wrote with Grave Forsaken in mind. By the time I wrote it, the four of us were jamming together on a weekly basis. I can actually recall sitting in my backroom and working the song out. Musically I just wanted something upbeat and heavy sounding. From memory the music came together really quickly. I was really pleased with the slower middle bit. I imagined it as a worship type section mid song. It was definitely written with live playing in mind. I think I achieved that dynamic we were looking for and I can't remember a gig where we didn't play it.
